What’s been happening?

Works are continuing up Kingsgate towards the NCP car park. This will be done in two halves over a two week period. The works to the corner by Thomas Cook will take place towards the end the month, throughout these works, the road will be diverted on to the park entrance for a period of a week. Clear signage and fencing will be in place to ensure pedestrians can exit the path safely.

Three more trees have been planted this week, taking it up to a total of 11 new trees with two left to come. The tree variety changes to a ‘Sweet Gum’ as you pass Marks and Spencer. The Pavement will be opening next week (from 5 August). It’s been closed to pedestrians longer due to alterations to level and sealing type to help longevity of the paving which is a different material from the main granite paving along Queensway.

What’s next?

For the next four weeks, there will be traffic control measures in place (traffic lights) to create the table top crossing outside TK Max.
